Spiderman3 Review

Since IMax was all sold out last night, Tisha and I had to drive to Danvers, Ma (30 miles away) to see Spiderman3 last night. Overall, I would probably give it a solid B. The visual effects will blow your mind (such as the opening fight scene and the out-of-control crane rescue) however, the story will leave you wanting for more. My biggest problem with the movie is that it has too many characters and not enough depth. When a movie starts introducing more than one villain (Batman 3 and 4), none of them are fully developed. Although I thought Sandman was a great villain and had so much potential; I wanted to see more of him doing his thing than just being Venom's sidekick for the movie's final fight scene. One the same note, Venom character was good but since so much was going on with Harry, the Sandman, and Mary Jane, the black suit didn't get its proper due in the movie. In the comic book, the black suit totally takes over Peter's life. The suit is such an action junkie, that it attaches itself to Pete at night and forces him to fight crime in a sleep walking state. But, in the movie, we only see the black suit when Peter is in a bad mood. I'm really a big fan of the black suit, but in this case, it was only used as a movie gimmick to sell more t-shirts.
Overall, I think the movie should have been made in 2 parts which would have given both villains time to develop and really reach the level of villaindom as with Doc Ock.
